As part of Eritreans’ in the UK effort to contribute to the ongoing drive for the development of human resource in
Eritrea, a second campaign of collecting and shipping books to Eritrea is on its final stage.Thousands of books that were acquired from UK universities were sorted and packed by Eritrean youth on Saturday, 21 April 2007.
The Eritrean youth received great assistance from an Eritrean business (Bedford Tavern Bar)and Eritrean lady, Genet Berhane, who provided the team of volunteers with a surprise full traditional food which was welcomed with great appetite after an 11 hour hard work.
It is to be recalled that Eritreans in UK sent Eighteen thousand
books lastyear and acknowledged by the minister for education Mr. Osman Salih who stated “The Ministry believes that sustainable educational development is secured essentially with such exemplary participation and contribution of the public in general and the youth in particular. Hence, the Ministry would like to extend its appreciation to all members of the Action Group Eritrea [AGE] and the Eritrean Relief Association in recognition of their valuable contribution.”
